Daddy’s Home/JFK JR., Charcoal, 1999

This is a sketch I was inspired to create after John F. Kennedy Jr. passed away in 1999. I was, as the whole country was stunned and deeply sadenned by the tragedy of his early death. He was American royalty and will always be remembered in my heart and the hearts of many others. After he passed away I picked up a Life Magazine Tribute on JFK Jr.’s life photos. This photo I though was very special as it shows John F. Kennedy coming home to the White House grounds on a helicopter. JFK Jr. anxiously awaits for his Father to land. The article stated that after JFK Sr. landed he ran to JFK Jr. and Caroline Kennedy picked them up and swung them around, so happy to see them.
